March 11, 2010
Dear Parents,
We are close to the end of our fundraising trail. Congratulations on earning an estimated sum of $62,528 as of March 11th for this school year.
Thank you to everyone who supports our fundraisers. Thank you to those parents that go the extra mile and plan or sponsor the events. We will still continue to add to that total through our "Titan Treats" store. Although the items in the store are reasonably priced, we still manage to make a small profit!
This is how the estimated fundraising has been broken down into the following categories:

Silent Auction
Thank you to the "Co-Chairs" of the 2010 Silent Auction, Stephanie Dominguez, Valerie Paredes, and Debbie Monarrez. Thank you to their Silent Auction Committee. Amy Boyle, Shane Casado, Sylvia Evans, Claudia Farfan, Cynthia Farfan, Antoinette Fyson, Madeline La Beach, Alex Luna, Jennifer Mercado, Liz Palato, Sandra Peron, Susan Pingarron, Victor Pintado, Pat Roman, Anabel Rojas, Sandra Ruiz, Teresa Schulte and Frances Vargas. A special thank you to Mr. Kevin La Beach who was our Master-of-Ceremonies and our Dee Jay, Rene Caballero.
One of the best comments that I heard after the Silent Auction came from several parents that had attended for the "first time". "This is my first time at the Auction and I'm hooked! I had the best time, and I'll definitely be there next year. I wish I had started going to the Silent Auction when my child was younger!"
Isn't that what I've been saying? My family enjoys the auction. Not sure who to sit with? Ask friends and family to join you. It is an event that shouldn't be missed.
Stations of the Cross
The 3rd Grade class will present the Stations of the Cross tomorrow at 1:15. The schedule for our Masses and our Stations of the Cross is on our Saint Therese School website.
Christian Service Project
On March 31st, the children will have a "free dress" day if they bring in food for the food drive. Please help fill the church cupboards with food for Easter. Our local parish families receive the food that we collect during this time.
Parent Council Meeting
On March 11th, there will be a parent council meeting in the Science Room at 6:00pm. We will be discussing the March and April events.
See's Candy Orders
Thank you to everyone that has purchased candy for Easter! The candy will be available for you to pick up on Monday, March 22nd. Please make arrangements to pick up the candy on that day.
School Holiday
Our faculty will be attending the Religious Education Congress in Anaheim on Friday, March 19th. This is an important inservice for our teachers.
Saint Joseph Project
Saint Therese School will be responsible for the refreshments that will be served after the mass on Tuesday, March 16th. The mass begins at 7:00 pm.
Buck-a-Jeans Day
The 8th grade will be having a Buck-a-Jeans day to earn money toward their 8th grade activities on Saint Patrick's Day, Wednesday, March 17th. Wearing of the green is to be encouraged!
Registration
Registration for the 2010 - 2011 school year will begin on March 22nd. Since banking information is on the pre-printed FACTS form, we would prefer to have our parents pick up the registration information in the school office.
Join the parish and pay the $4100 tuition. Church contributions are considered donations for your tax returns. When preparing your taxes for next year, you will thank the finance committee for adding to the "donation column" rather than raising the tuition which is not tax-deductible. The $400 registration fee per student is due on March 26th to reserve your place on the class list for next year.
Saint Therese Parish Gardening Committee
The gardening committee will be meeting on Saturday morning, March 27th at 9:30am to plant flowers for Easter around the church and school property. Our School families are invited to help the gardening committee.
Thank you for all that you do to improve Saint Therese School! Thank you for your support for our events. It is obvious from the 8th grade's acceptance letters from the various high schools that Saint Therese School is excelling in academics! Congratulations 8th Graders!
